Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

His life has been a series of one traumatic event after the other. Tainted by his experience, his mind is close to breaking, fractured as it already is. Regularly, he'll just sit there, staring blankly at nothing. Flashbacks and nightmares of memories long since past haunt him, making him feel on edge all the time. Paranoid, he always watches his back, afraid of the next situation which he will suffer from.

But he knows, with the certainty of the doomed, that it will come. He imagines its eyes on him, at his back, stalking him, hunting its prey. No one knows what will happen once he snaps.
