Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Quenti lives in the mountains, like all of the other gold Incan dragons. His name is the Incan word for "hummingbird". Quenti has always been extremely tiny. Even as an egg Quenti was often mistaken for a very shiny pygmy egg. He often suffered from his size; the other hatchlings would always pick on him and beat him up for no other reason besides it was easy to do so. Quenti's wings growing in had no effect on his size, they were tiny and could hardly support his weight.

One day when Quenti was sprinting away from his bullies, he was trapped on a very steep canyon wall and was forced to jump off. Instead of dying painfully like he expected, Quenti found that if he flapped his wings very fast he could actually fly. After much practice, Quenti was able to fly like any other hatchling, expect for it sounded like a giant hummingbird was nearby. Quenti's newfound flying abilities have allowed him to fight back at his bullies by giving him the advantage of speed and dexterity.
