Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kigaru Kansei's name roughly translates to "light-hearted shout of joy."  This dragon is a relative unknown, due to his semi-nomadic lifestyle.  He spends much of the year in a cycle of wandering alone, then resting at the cave, and will only smile enigmatically if asked about his journey.  As the weather turns cold and the holidays approach, he becomes more active and the whole attitude of the community turns upbeat.  Kigaru uses an obscure form of magic to create festive decorations for the cave, and his mere presence is enough to inspire the others to celebrate and give gifts to one another.  When the holidays are over he hibernates for many weeks, exhausted from the effort it takes to spread Christmas cheer.
