Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like her son Dale, Shadow is the guardian of a hidden valley within the mountains of Mycador. Shadow's valley however is even better hidden and the mountains around it are so high that the only time sunshine reaches the bottom of the vale is for an hour on midday during summer solstice. This valley has a very unique flora and fauna and is a popular spot for nocturnal dragon breeds to spend some time away from hectic clan life. Shadow doesn't mind but keeps a close eye on the number of dragons staying there, so that this special biome won't be destroyed through thoughtlessness.
