Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sir Iodine of Acir II is a swallowtail dragon. He is very solitary and does not talk much, preferring to spend his days meticulously gathering large amounts of prey for his clan and patrolling the borders. He also has a funny accent, and many dragons can't understand what he is trying to communicate to them, thus contributing to his usual silence. Sir Iodine of Acir II isn't very peculiar or strange, except for one thing: he loves to collect massive amounts of salt, which he stores in glass jars that his spitfire friends make for him. He claims these salts contain a rare nutrient known as 'iodine', though most dragons do not care. Still, that has not deterred him from filling up a whole cave (called the 'Iodine Cavern') with rows after rows of jars stacked a dozen feet deep. Sir Iodine of Acir II never shares his sea salt with anyone, though his friend, Sir Silver of Guidicelli II, does sometimes come over and takes a jar for himself.
