Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The pure white skin of this hatchling makes her appear more like a ghost, especially since she refuses to come near you.  Unlike most whites, this one has red eyes-An albino, and as she sits, watching you warily, you can vaguely see a reddish tint to a place on her chest- Her heart, the quantity of blood showing through her thin transparent skin.  A nearby hatchling scratches itself on a rock and cries out.  The white female reacts instantly, half scampering, half fluttering over towards the injured one.  Placing her paws on either side of the scratch, the albino seems to focus, and for a breif moment, you can see every vein and vessel in her entire body as she focuses what little magic she has control over to help her injured hatchmate.  The scratch heals, and the white backs away from the astounded, healed creature, apparently wanting no thanks for her deeds.
