Falconiform Wyverns are normally shy creatures. However, when approached, they often feel threatened, and the flames along their bodies leap higher. Females tend to be smaller than males, though Falconiform Wyverns are typically rather large overall. They use their size to their advantage by hunting smaller dragons. The Falconiform’s graceful, swooping dives are said to resemble birds of prey. Falconiforms are largely solitary dragons that only meet in order to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rarithiz was one of a number of her breed collected by an over enthusiastic sorceress who, upon the breed's discovery, assumed they would be rare and shiny and highly valuable. Or uncommon. Or one of those commons that everyone loved sooo much they became pretty much rare. Oh, she was wrong, so wrong! Her wails about her misfortunes and how "commonplace" falconiforms were did absolutely nothing to appease this particular specimen's vanity, and as a result she's taken to setting the sorceress' favorite ostriches on fire as a way to get revenge.
