Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Uncaged Doom is a strong male Vampire dragon that nobody tries to mess with. Ruthless and ugly, Doom is one of the most active dragons in Outlaw of the Darkness' vampire dragon gang. When violence is needed, he's the first to volunteer for the job. Uncaged Doom has an almost dog-like loyalty to Outlaw of the Darkness. He's a dragon of few words and little brain, but is friends to the infinitely quicker-tongued Midnight Changeling. Together, they are a terrible force, Doom with the brawn and Changeling with the brain.

Uncaged Doom lives with Midnight Changeling in a medium sized cave in the mountain range called "The Dragon's Teeth". He's unable to read or write, though Midnight Changeling can do both, and often amuses Doom with stories involving a lot of violence and triumph of evil. With no mate or eggs, Uncaged Doom devotes all of his energy to the gang.

A thoroughly unpleasant character, Uncaged Doom is probably the last dragon anybody would like to met on a dark night.
