Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
They were from different worlds, but she accepted him all the same--and he loved her for it, although that confession never left him. Slaine, as the humans called him, was from a flock of dragons that had since time immemorial worked alongside and protected mortals. This was in stark contrast to her clan, cold and proud, living high in the Vers Mountains and looking down from their lofty homes upon those who sided with humanity. This gap had led to increasingly hostile relations between the two, and so it was that Slaine's father went to seek peace, and brought his son with him to do so.
Their visit did not achieve that goal, but it did introduce him to Asseylum, Princess of Vers, one who unlike her kin had a heart that was far too kind. It was during his training as a soldier there (an undertaking that earned him much spite) that he first came to view the princess as more than a friend... but the looming war between his new home and his old may soon throw that love into destruction.
