Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

It is charged with the task of tending to and overseeing the safety and protection of The Kingdom's children. Enchanted by the magics of The Mage, It was forged from a human sustenance. If ever it shall fail its sole purpose, by Mandate given of The Queen herself, It shall be unmade by curse of The Witcher. For reasons unknown, but more likely undisclosed by The Mage, the peculiar bouquet emitted from The Child Keeper has unique 'calming' effect on all children who go to near to it. Unborn dragons have been noted to fidget and shake about less often in its presence. The young hatchlings can often be seen mulling about it much more 'docile' and 'obedient' than their natures would inspire.
