Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Her father, Bindin, chose to not be part of his parent's clan, Valor Caliber, by defying one of their very basic rules; only breed with mates of the same type. Wipquil's mother is a magi dragon, and because of this her father's line is banished from the clan. Although she wishes to one day get to know that side of the family, she's proud to be part of her father's line. His bravery sets all of them apart and has given her the confidence to start her own line. She was offered entry into her grandfather's clan with the promise that she'd breed with her own type and abandon her father. At first she so desired to know her grandparents that she agreed which led to her arranged pairing with Nineckq as her mate. This incident produced her daughter, Spiveight, but was a short lived pairing. Now she has found the one she truly desires to be with but he is not the same dragon type as she... and she's already had an egg from him.
