Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Miki's always been the sweet, shy one in his family, only really able to talk to his siblings. So when a beautiful young White appeared at their camp, he just hung back, watching her. She was brought to be Xeyphii's lifemate, but he wanted her for his own. The Silver male would take precedence over this young Waterwalker, so Miki did not protest. Then it turned out to be an incompatible match and Xeyphii rejected the young White. Rejected as she was, Aureaii no longer knew her purpose here. Miki came upon her one day, trying desperately not to cry. He comforted her, and then they began becoming friends. Soon, she was spending almost all her time at Miki's side, something he was quite pleased with. Pakiri, of course, found out about her little brother's feelings, and wasted no time in telling the rest of their family. After much meddling by the rest of the Prides, Miki and Aureaii were brought together as lifemates. Miki's really quite pleased about this.
