Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tempestas of Caliga had intended for her name to translate from Latin to "Storm of Darkness" but there was a misspelling along the way and her name now means "Storm of Sandals" which sounds much less frightening, but she has grudgingly learned to deal with it.<br/>She is the first weather dragon of the Aemelie Caves and she still has a measure of wilderness in her temperament; although, she is very loyal to the family and especially her mate. <br/>Tempestas' fiery temper and ferocious attitude enable her to quickly identify any intruder in the skies around her home. Together, Tempestas and Atra Proeliator are able to protect and defend their family from above. Her favorite method of disabling all unwanted intruders is with mountains of thick, billowy, fog that confuses her opponents and which she alone can see through.
