Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Demoneater, like all Green Dragon hatchlings, always loved playing with pebbles. Unfortunately, you tend to disturb creatures better left alone if you go digging around among old ruins, even if the stones and shards found in ruins are ever so fun to play with. Demoneater, while trying to get at an especially shiny pebble, knocked over some old artifact and released the demon trapped inside. Luckily it was only a lesser demon, and she did the only thing she likes doing just as much as gathering pebbles—she caught and ate him. Demons are not a part of a healthy diet though, and she got very ill and stopped growing. But without being really aware of it, she saved the lives of all the other dragons by getting rid of that demon once and for all.
