Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Salazar and his mate, Xeria, wandered into the Pride clan as an already mated pair. They had gone through the ceremony back at their own clan, the Arundels. However, there were more pinks on Arundel lands than were needed, and so Salazar and his mate went off to find a place they would be needed. They found that place in the Pride lands.

He's not as outgoing or impulsive as his mate, but Salazar gets along fairly well with most of his clanmates. He does have an ongoing enmity with Bitter, but then again the Ridgewing doesn't like many dragons.
