Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Sunedawn Wunxie was just an egg, a monsoon struck the jungle where her family lived and Sunedawn tumbled from the nest, becoming lost in the deep, suffocating mud. She would have died there, disgraced and alone and unborn, until her new mother literally tripped on her while traveling through the area. Not knowing who the egg belonged to and not wanting Sunedawn to die, the woman took Sunedawn home. Her human mother cared for her and Sunedawn grew into a beautiful sunsong amphiptere with a sharp mind and playful personality. Sunedawn enjoys flying through the air and hardly ever comes down, choosing to hover rather than actually land (except when she sleeps). She also likes to tease her siblings, gently tugging at wings or tails before darting in and out of claw reach like some infuriating butterfly. Despite it all, her siblings love her and she loves them. She also loves her mother with her big heart and tries her best to bring good luck and fortune to her family.
