Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Edward Elric is a particularly hot-tempered spitfire—he's not quite as tall as most members of his species, and tends to explode into violent fits on the unfortunately frequent occasion that somebody calls him short.
He has an uncanny grasp of the magics used to transmute barriers and weapons from the raw materials around him, so usually whoever makes the mistake of pointing out his vertically-challenged self usually gets utterly pummeled. His flames are very, very hot. He lost his left leg in an accident, but it doesn't deter his fighting skills in the least.
This young male tends to be disdainful and antisocial towards newcomers, but if you can befriend him, he's a brave and loyal friend to the point of recklessness.
