Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shimmering Breeze is a very brave dragon and has only one fear: HUMANS.  He does not understand their desire for his golden scales, or why they are willing to kill for them.  He is quite skilled as a warrior, and can hold his own in any battle. In a regular battle, he understands what drives his opponent; why they are fighting and  dying.  But humans make no sense, why kill over a bit of skin  He cannot form a strategy to fight what he does not understand. There are many shed scales in the cave, and he would gladly give them to the humans, but he dares not get that close to them, as their greed would probably require HIS scales as well.  If only he could understand their reasoning, he might be able to stop this senseless war between the humans and the dragons!
