This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Anaycs, raised by Upeqm to make up for the latter's failure to realize Sky Chase's natural summoning talent until Scyana was born, was feared by the other dragons... with one exception. They believed that if Anaycs and Scyana were to meet, they would fight each other in a catastrophic battle (with no evidence to support their beliefs). Anaycs is actually very humble, and despite his control over ice, fire and lightning, he shies away from fights. His mate, Moon's Lyre the Moonstone, seems to be the only dragon who doesn't fear him, but because of her choice to stay with Anaycs, she is shunned as well. However, she still stays loyal to Anaycs, and they are now raising a child together. One that will soon bring change.
