Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Embiruk de Bixen defected from the de Bixen branch to be the head of the Dorkface branch. He had always hated being controlled by his father, and when Silverity Dorkface Lin fell in love with him, he saw it as a chance to gain more power within the clan. He rules the Dorkface branch with an iron fist and refuses to accept Wiccana Thorne Dorkface because she is an inbred. Despite Embiruk's harshness, no dragon has ever defected from the Dorkface branch. Two of his eggs were lost, but he would deny it.
