Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Silver Flashfreeze is a kind and playful hatchling, like most. For some reason, however, she always defends her brother, Icy Ambition, and his antics, whenever he gets into trouble. She claims that he can't help being he way he is and that if Lightningstreak and her dragons were just a bit kinder to him in the past, then maybe Icy Ambition wouldn't be the cold-hearted frozen hatchling that he is today. Despite her loyalty to her sibling, Silver Flashfreeze would never side with him and Starkit. She loves her brother, but wishes that he didn't get into so much trouble sometimes.
