Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sisko Sonje, an earth dragon who grew up with her aquatic dragon mother, is a better swimmer than most of her kind. She can hold her breath much longer than any human, and almost as long as one of the freshwater porpoises that share her mother's lake.

Sisko Sonje left the water at the end of childhood, however, and chose to move to a group of small, isolated hills on the flat prairie. Like great bastions, with unique kinds of animals and plants living above their cave-riddled cliffs, these humps of earth and stone house Sisko Sonje's hoard and lair.

Of yet, Sisko Sonje has no mate. There are some male dragons who live on the prairie, but none have caught her eye. She believes, with her long life span, that she will find the right mate when it is time.
