Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Search for the Blindeye is the queen of her clan. She is grumpy but quite brave—she will fight with any enemies of the Clan. She is very beautiful and kindhearted. She is loyal to her clan and also clever, though since becoming a queen she made some mistakes because of fear of the future. She loves Laima Eurig and Laima the Blindeye too much. That's why she feels sore about Laima the Blindeye's bloodthirsty temper—she can't stop him, she loves him, forgetting about his brashness and ambitions. She says that he's her ungrateful punishment for something she did wrong. Luckily, she could bear this before he left the Clan and took away some of the dragons. She loves each dragon that didn't go with Laima the Blindeye. She is worried that a lot left with him and wants to get another, maybe more grateful child. When it's cold, she prefers living in the hills—there's a lot of food and some of the other dragons live with her.
