Lag's mother, Kat, struggled daily to keep her firstborn son alive. Throughout the darkness Lag fought to live. At long last, a day came when the monster who roamed the land went back to his own terrible world, leaving the dragons in peace. Lag could finally stretch his wings and his voice. To Kat's surprise, and giving her unending pride, Lag grew into a strong adult male. Although haunted by the tumult of his first years, Lag does his best to lead a normal life. Quiet and withdrawn, Lag spends most of his time quietly building and demolishing little piles of rocks around the entrance to his cave.
