Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This female was born a proud heir of the Chronus family, a lineage of powerful dragons who have since time immemorial ruled over a hidden paradise in one of the back corners of the world. As wise and gentle as her ancestors before her, her ascension to the throne was eagerly awaited by all, and peace and prosperity promised to reign forever.

But then Asis appeared.

The dread golden dragon appeared as if from nowhere, leading an army of impossible size, and in the course of a single blood-drenched day usurped the throne and took all of the country under her pale claws. Barely escaping with her life, the dispossessed heiress roamed the outer world in a daze, watching one nightmare unfold after another as Asis' reach stretched ever outward.

But then she heard of the prophecy.

A seer had foretold that a young Sunsong named Aetas would end Asis' evil forever. Filled with new purpose, the Thunder dragon immediately struck out to find him, for he was the only one who could save them now...
