Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Being taken into her albino clan when she was lost as a little hatchling, Nova Aki knows she won't ever reach a high position in the clan's hierarchy. This frustrates her from time to time because, if nothing else can be said about her, she is at least a very ambitious dragon. She dreams to shine and be thought of as one of the best—and she doesn't care what ability it would be. Alas, she has so far been fairly average in whatever she tries.

Her strengths lie in swimming through large bodies of water, fast and for a long time. But there are other dragons in the clan, that are faster than her, or have more endurance. It's not enough for Nova Aki, and till this day she still searches for her chance to shine.
