Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Though rather despising of touchy-feely adoration, Creme Phoenix endured a childhood of being pampered by her caretaker. She realized that even though the hugs were not quite to her liking, and she was not allowed to bite her her benefactor (certainly she tried!), being spoiled had its perks. One of those perks being fresh eggs. Oh, but she loves fresh eggs! Lineage eggs, cave born eggs, eggy eggs, eggs! And she is encouraged to bite them no less. But, sadly for her caretaker, Creme Phoenix loves the eggs too much to just bite them and inject her venom. She bites the eggs, cracks the shell and devours the yolk. Even if she fully intends to make a vampire egg, once the flavor of the crunchy shell tickles her taste buds, she loses reason. The error is discovered later when the haze of feeding frenzy wears off her mind and she can think rationally again. Though slightly remorseful after the fact, Creme does it again almost every time.
