When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Watris is a curt old fellow, often insulting any dragons who try to go for a swim in what he considers his ocean. He likes to think himself the greatest swimmer out there, able to outdistance even a soaring eagle, and thinks that he can crush an entire ship fleet with just one coil. Passing fliers end up becoming the victims of his long winded tales on how he caused this tsunami, sucked down a city with that whirlpool, and even the story on how he managed to prove himself bigger then a deep sea.

Problem is, considering his size, this just might be true. It's safe to say that no one ever really questions his statements and never dares to actually see him commit the famed acts.
