When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Slitherous, an old ambitious dragon. In adulthood, the creature is very ornery, and one to avoid being approached by, but, given his normally curious nature, that's hard to avoid. As a youngling; to go far back, Slitherous was hatched to royal genes. His dam being an empress of a small colony in the west, and his sire being a king-to-be. It was an arranged session, and soon after the bout, they separated. Not long after, Slitherous' egg was brought out to the world. His egg hatched sooner than natural, and he came to with a birth defect--the reasoning was decided to be his already grown siblings knocking the egg about. His tail fin seemed to be chopped, messing with his ability to swim. His mother was wary of him, refusing to slow down migrations in order for him to keep up. Eventually, she gave up entirely, and left Slitherous stranded as a youngling. Afterwards, he was discovered by a Dragon Farmer and then taken to a sanctuary, where other dragons of his kind taught him how to swim.
