Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. As a young egg, Regina was liberated from an evil dragon hunter named Linda, a vile woman who collects dragons only to have them placed in a magically frozen state so they can be put on display. The underground group that liberated Regina was passing through a market one day, and it was at this market that Queen Katherine Nightingale spotted the egg from across the way. The group warned her of the egg's past, and that because of the careless way it was treated while under Linda's supervision, it may grow up to be... different. The Queen brushed this off and took the egg, spending the next few years raising Regina as her own. Unfortunately the group was right: Having been dropped many times while young, it had scrambled the poor thing's personality. One day Regina tried to use her vines to kill her brother Elmyra. The Queen, not knowing what else to do, used her powers to trap Regina in a fold in time, trapping her forever in a frozen state where she could never hurt anyone again.
