Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Airator was orphaned just before hatching; because of an unknown tragedy claimed the life of both his parents and all their clan mates. He was found by a group of wandering dragons and raised as though he was one of their own. The group that took him in is only known as "The Wanderers", a group of dragons of many races that began to band together for varying reasons. It is not unheard of for them to raise eggs and hatchlings of other dragons, but all the same, they do not normally raise those that were born in their group. Those that are born in their group are left, to be cared for, in other dragon clans. Airator acts as the scout of the group along side Zebeza, a female skywing. He is bold and headstrong. Whatever happened to his biological parents is still a mystery to him, but he has vowed to discover what happened, and make any and all responsible pay for their crimes.
