Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Deep inside the lightless caves of Mt. Akatund rest the remains of the Baratakine civilization. In enormous underground cavern, a league from wall to wall in all directions, rise massive monuments to Baratakine civilization. In the great city lay gigantic statues depicting strange gods in infinite combat, glamorous castles and palaces filled with strange exotic gems and crystals, public halls gilded with a hundred thousand fortunes of gold, silver and platinum, streets paved with gemstones and spires that reach to the very top of the cave, a mile above the floor below. All these treasures, sheltered from the elements without are as pristine as the day the inhabitants vanished, 3000 years ago. Of the great Baratakine civilization only one being remains, the guardian of Akatund, Birgita of the Mountain. Alone she has guarded the cavern from looters and historians alike. Alone, for three thousand years, she has lost the faculty of telepathic speech, and her sight has adapted to the dark.
