It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

There once was a little hatchling that wanted to be a vampire. It was devastated that it had not been bitten as an egg, and none could console it.

Then one day a shadowy stranger came to the hatchling and offered a chance to become a monster. The hatchling hurriedly agreed, eager to try and drink some blood.

After being led away by the mysterious stranger, the hatchling felt a sharp pain, and then nothing. It awoke weeks later as a Zombie, not a vampire, and completely shocked.

Feeling betrayed by the stranger, the hatchling attacked a group of dragons. It then realized that brains taste just as good as blood, and has since wandered, moaning, "I will eats your brain... Yummy!"
