Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

This strange dragon is paranoid, scared of anything that may make his body tear, get damp, or set it ablaze. Fortunately, being enchanted paper, Barkscroll does not need to feed or sleep, and so he makes an excellent warning system at night; far better than any stone dragon.

Should any danger appear at the cave mouth, the rustling that Barkscroll creates as he moves to a hiding spot wakes all light sleeping dragons, who in turn wake the deeper sleeping ones with the sounds of the commotion.

As well as a early warning system, his dragontender using Barkscroll to send messages, by writing on the paper before sending him off somewhere. He usually comes back thoroughly terrified.
