It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Burning Violets is a clever and dangerous dragon. Ever since he was a hatchling, he has been concocting plots and schemes. He has always been good at getting other dragons into trouble. His neighbors are wary of him, and he is a social outcast. It is his own fault, of course, but he never admits his mistakes, although he is good at pointing out others' mistakes. Unbeknown to him, Blue Moon Ocean and Blue Fire-Water are coming up with a clever plan to put a stop to Burning Violets' stratagems once and for all. If he did know, he would be furious enough to antagonize the entire cave-not that it is not already antagonized-and so fearsome would be his wrath that it would take a very brave dragon to stand before him.
