Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One of the most heart-breaking circumstances in this world is when a father must betray his own child for the good of his Clan. Apollo's Harp, leader of the Wolf Feather Clan, was forced to banish his own son from its ranks, for he had become a vampire, something abhorred and feared by all dragon-kind. Apollo tried in vain to save him, but Fell could no more stop being a vampire than breathe the air. And while Fell understood why he had to leave, understanding did little to to quell the bitterness swelling in his heart. Lady Wolfbane was quick to take him in, but Fell had no idea that it was she who had turned him, not only to fill her coven's ranks, but as a personal revenge against the clan that had betrayed her. And to this day, he has no idea that he was a mere pawn in a scheme for vengeance.
