Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zapdos Voltheart wandered away from his parents when he was a small hatchling. After traveling from village to village for about a year, Zapdos Voltheart found out about his ability to summon deadly lightning. He got carried away in his power, slicing the sky with thousands of bolts. He clapped his wings together in enjoyment, accidentally summoning a lightning bolt. The bolt arced downward from the swirling clouds and struck his wing. He fell into the tumbling waves of the ocean below. The lightning still crackling along his body sent a jolt through the sea, killing nearby fish. Meanwhile, Morgieporgie04 was out to see what caused such an abrupt storm. She spotted the silvery forms of dead fish and knew that a Thunder Dragon must have caused the many fish to die. Having a large heart for dragons, Morgieporgie04 dove into the ocean and rescued Zapdos Voltheart. She luckily did not get electrocuted. Zapdos Voltheart barely survived, but Morgieporgie04 nursed him back to health.
