Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Richard is loyal and protective to a fault. After witnessing the murder of his little sister at the hands of hatchling hunters, he vowed to never let another one of his loved ones die if he could do something about it. This can make him a little bit reckless, as he will selflessly throw himself between his clanmates and danger, causing himself great harm in the process. His friends love him almost as fiercely as he loves them, and they would do the same for him, given the chance.

On top of being a protector on par with the Guardian dragon species, Richard lends an open ear and a shoulder to anyone who needs it, providing counsel for all the other dragons in his clan (and also to some not in his clan) on at least one occasion.

Richard is besotted with Rebecca, and the two began a tentative relationship. That relationship is still going strong.
