Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

To rise from the ashes tends to be a clan legacy.

Covered in soot and obsidian, "Ali" was born. Around her was a nest with four other hatchlings and the bodies of two stone adults covered by a thick layer of magma. She was born alone to blistering heat and a burning pain on her tail.

To this day, even she doesn't know how or why she escaped this horrible disaster. But from it, portion of her tail was scorched off and crusted under the base is a patch of ammolite, hence her name.

Ali believes that because she escaped, it's all her fault. That she somehow caused the explosion. No matter how ridiculous, this idea is not without cause. Since this all happened, she has been in one more volcanic explosion. One that killed her childhood love, who she had been mad at at the time. She was not even touched by the magma that time. Not even so much as a drop landed on her hide. Though it could be because of special properties in the ammolite on her tail, Ali thinks she is a creature of evil.
