Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s always proudly preening its patches of colorful scales.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling is fascinated by the colored flame in his tail. He blows into it to make his tail swell up larger, and chuckles on seeing it deflate back to normal size. He also like to put small sticks and twigs into to the flame, to watch them be instantly incinerated. Once he tried putting a mouse he had caught into his tail flame, but he did not like the smell of burnt fur, so he does not put any creatures there anymore.

After staring at his tail flame long enough, Seertayl began to see images within the fire. He believes he is receiving messages about the future by studying his tail flame; for a fee (paid in gemstones, of course) he will tell visitors what he sees there.
