Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Dawn is the perfect den mother and a favorite sitter among many of the hatchlings. Her kindhearted nature also allows her to stroll into human villages without causing panic and fear. Many of the humans love her and more often than not offer her a gift. She rarely accepts their trinkets, as she doesn't have much interest in treasure, she does happily accept certain fish that the fishermen give her as treats. Sometimes she'll share these treats with the hatchlings while she tells them stories of the world beyond the safety of the cove. Only once has she fought another dragon and it was to protect an egg from getting bitten. She managed to fend off the Vampire, but sustained a minor tear in her beautiful wing. She doesn't fly anymore because she fears the tear may grow and she will lose the brilliant shine in her colorful wings that everyone compliments her on. Despite this, she would do anything to protect those that look up to her.
