Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ole-Kahi is a family line recently created by Ka'aki's father-figures, a Marrow by the name of Ka'iwikoko Ka'iwi and Kahikolukoa Koa the Tri-horn Wyvern. The name means "tri-fang", which represents the three of them and the way they are viewed by most dragons- as cold and disgusting killers. Ka'aki was raised in a loving manner and learned to accept and embrace who she is as a Vampire dragon. Both Ka'iwi and Koa are humble dragons, however, Ka'aki is a bit narcissistic and views herself superior to the other dragons. Because the sun is too much for her skin, she is very dependent on her fathers to provide her meals during the day. Sometimes the meals that her fathers provide don't seem to be enough for her. At night, she goes out to scavenge for anything easy from abandoned eggs, abandoned hatchlings, or if she's lucky an unclaimed carcass of an animal or dragon.
