Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Few dragons can boast the long memory of Viyari, leader of the Weyr of Blood, a loose collection of dragons who roam the continent, ignoring the laws of more stable Weyrs as they rampage as they please. Viyari isn't sure of the title of 'leader,' but he IS the only one who can wrangle any of these dragons too rebellious or cruel for Weyr life into some semblance of order. With his long-term mate, Vylira, Viyari's primary goal is to keep himself and his tattered family together at any cost. It's a dangerous world out there, after all. Every dragon must find their own way to survive.

Viyari has opted to rely on his strength, even promising some amount of protection and food to dragons who wish to travel with him and his family. His laws are few, but unbreakable: obey Viyari, and pay for disobedience with blood. Any member of the Weyr of Blood may challenge Viyari for his leadership, but a warning: it is a fight to the death, and Viyari's mercy is as still as the blood in his veins...
