Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bluesteele, or Bluesteele Legacy as he will eventually be known, is a frozen black hatchling. When his clan was still young, one of the leaders of the clan, Isendae Anamatus, had a vision that the fourth and final leader of his clan would be royal blue thuwed leader named Bluesteele. However, in those times, dragons were taking names from each other, and Isendae Anamatus was worried that the name, Bluesteele, would be taken before he could name the last leader. However, one night, when he discussed it with his leaders, a young black hatchling overheard the conversation. Walking into the leader's cave, he asked if he could preserve the name until it was time to use it. The clan agreed, and the young black hatchling had a spell casted upon it to make it remain young forever, and he received the name 'Bluesteele' for safekeeping. When the time comes, Bluesteele will give up his name to the royal blue leader and become Bluesteele Legacy, but whatever happens, he will always be remembered.
