Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

As vain as the Summer days are long, this flamboyant beastling, named Daimonion for his impish behaviours, can often be seen skimming fields of flowers in the manner of courting swallows. He glitters pleasingly in the sunlight, and his wings catch the glow much like the stained glass apertures so favoured in the decor of churches. Had one not acquainted themselves with his temperament, they could be forgiven for imagining his disposition was as angelic as his countenance. Daimonion can be quite wicked and rather troublesome; his love for frightening livestock and people is well known, and only matched by his excessive vanity and curiosity.

However, in spite of his meddlesome, troublemaking nature, he is friendly and almost stupidly trusting. Daimonion is very quick indeed to approach others with either the intent to pester or befriend them. He is not unkind, simply obstreperous.
