Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It can fit right in your palm.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This tiny Hatchling was named for the term for "small one" in Indonesian. He's a smart little Dragon, sometimes too smart for his own good. He loves to explore, and his guardians don't always let him...so he makes up stories. The last time he "just went to visit a friend" he almost became a Vine Dragon snack 50 miles away from his friend's cave! He means well though, and dreams on the day he'll be big enough to go adventuring wherever he wants.
