Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Julio ju is an adrenaline-addicted dragon who tries to squeeze as much fun from each day as possible. He's attracted to danger and likes causing trouble. Despite his mischief he always manages to never get hurt, somehow showing great cunning and brilliance on his side. Julio is very passionate about everything that has to do with water. He has explored rivers, vast oceans and even lakes while most Coastal Waverunners in the cave stay near the coasts or shallow waters. Julio is also curious in nature. To keep up with his active and energetic spirit, Julio is physically very trained. While he is not the fastest dragon in flight, he has an almost unbeatable condition. Julio, like some rumors suggest about Coastal Waverunners, can fly literally for days without resting. But he worked hard to get there in body when he was young. He is best friends with Geming Genghis, Lamina de sombra, Nula noramena, Phobs summerdew and Charlie Float. These dragons are also close friends with each other.
