Caligene Dragons have long been considered omens of death—reinforced by the skeletal markings on their bodies. They exert a malignant force on the world around them, causing other living things to slowly waste away in their presence. Caligenes favor the seasons of summer and autumn, disappearing entirely from the forests they inhabit during winter and spring. These malevolent dragons are physically weak, though this is countered by their natural stealthiness and alarming speed—enabling them to close in on large targets quickly and silently to create ambushes from which prey cannot escape.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The cave had a subtle tapping noise; perhaps of claws or water hitting the rock floors. She could count the taps. Counting was what kept her sane in her small prison. She knew why she was kept there- small dragons or humans would be thrown in with her to slowly waste away, or if she wasn't satisfied with eating their carcasses, she would eat them alive.

Later that morning- well, actually, time could not be kept in the cave other than the tapping- a small, frozen sapphire was forced to enter through the small entryway, and as she saw this happening, Parade wondered what such a tiny dragon could do to make treason upon the throne. Regardless, she could tell about the sapphires pure, unfiltered terror. Whispering what seemed to be the last prayer to the life she had before, she asked Parade if she could die quickly. To that, Parade answered with a hug- she did not want to cause pain, and with a gentle embrace, she was gone.
