Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Icy Glass is an extremely disciplined and stern dragon, with a soft spot only for creature comforts and those she feels close to. She was the first dragon ever hatched and tamed by her human, who had a hard time earning Icy Glass' trust. The trust issues she displayed were out of fear of being abandoned again. Unfortunately, she still retains them to a degree despite being fully grown. She is now eternally grateful to her human, whom she commonly refers to as "Mother". Her human is the only human that she will display any affection to, and any other humans that do not have a trace of her "Mother's" scent will be swiftly and mercilessly attacked.

The dragons she grew up with have an extremely deep connection with her. Flame Shock, Pure Wind, and Color Shimmer are all treated like her own flesh and blood, and then some. There have been sightings of them sitting in a circle and having private telepathic conversations with one another. They seem to be extremely intense.
