Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A Night to Remember, also known as Night, shares her mother's determination and steely resolve. She was so named because when her egg was laid, her birth clan the Supernovas, won a major victory and gained a critical piece of territory. That was, indeed, a night that all Supernova dragons will remember.

The miraculous event seems to have blessed her memory. As her clanmates remember the battle, so she remembers pretty much everything. Night's impeccable recollection capabilities never fail to impress and are an asset to her clan. Despite this, she is somewhat of an outcast—Night's loner personality coupled with the fact that she is an illegitimate child set her apart from the rest of the group. Since she is not always appreciated for her talents, she has become somewhat cynical and sarcastic. Though the others sometimes take her for granted, Night continues to perform her duty as a faithful Supernova dragon.
